Like Summer Into Fall

The plants have burst and yielded
their last full measures of fruit
and produce, naturally died away,
mulched back into the earth to
feed the worms and soil,
organically recycle when left
to their own divine design.

Nothing is wasted.
Nothing dies exactly
It all organically just
Changes forms.

The fowl cross continents
To keep in summers warmth
Trumpeting in the
Autumn’s march with
Their rich and lonesome sounds
Like nature’s railroad whistle’s blowing
The sounds of someone’s leaving
And someone’s left behind.

Leaves turn with the falling
temperatures. The night’s
chill and the morning frost,
all bring their own
excitement like no other
Time of year.

Menus change,
more soups and stews.
More cozy wardrobes too.
More sweaters, socks and scarves
to snuggle up into.

As the days get shorter
and the sacred nights grow
longer, taking us in earlier
holding us close more,
offering restoration and
repair, more ease if we’d
listen and allow.

The world is turning
time is rolling on
offering us humans
healing, restoration, reparations
Daily
whether we listen and attend
or not, the offer is there.

There are seismic shifts
happening right now.

The infections, in human thinking
perversions of dominance,
supremacy, manifest destiny
and one’s right, by god or wealth,
over others, a madness
all playing out in fevered pitch
all over the globe.

The natural world is the real world,
eminently sane and healing,
always there for us, holding the space for
healing and thrival, will be there
long after humans, no matter what.

As it happens in all healing
things appear to get worse
before they get better.

What was hidden must
come up and out for healing.

Right now, as always
there are unseen forces at play,
the ancient ones discounted long ago,
supporting the eradication of
these diseased ideas of dominance
that plague societies.

Now is the time to tip the scales
in favor of our humanity.

Beneath the stories of conquers
stories of a sliver of our time on Earth
all war and greed and pestilence,

there are a million other stories
of original blessing, of joy and
peace and healing, of
the light and the life within
all things, and us that you know is
the truest part of
Everything.

Feed the light within you.
Not by fighting the dark and wounded,
but by allowing it to voice its pain until it’s done. Naturally.
Like summer into Fall.
